Star Steel International LLC is bringing its extensive experience in the sector by employing state of the art manufacturing facilities at Hamriyah Free Zone Sharjah. Adhering to world's best practices and conforming to International standards (BS, EN, ASTM, JIS and others) with certification in progress from CARES (UK) and DCL (Dubai Central Laboratory), Star Steel International LLC has set up the following units.
Rebar Mill: This facility is intended to produce rebars with rated capacity of 360,000 MTPA in BS4449 Gr 460B grade and equivalent - with a size range of 8mm to 40mm straight length. The equipment is being supplied by leading Italian suppliers with a 60 ton pusher type furnace and 20 rolling stands with 60m length cooling bed and other auxiliary equipment. The feedstock billet would be in 130mm sq - 150mm sq range to be mainly imported through Hamriyah Free Zone Port.
Section Mill: This facility is under Implementation at the same site adjacent to rebar rolling mill at Hamriyah Free Zone site to produce beams, channels and other section products with rated capacity of 240,000 MTPA. The products will be made of various international specifications including BSEN, DIN, JIS and others. The equipment here again is being supplied by Italian company, The salient features are a 55 ton pusher type furnace and 1 reversing and 9 continuous finishing stands with 60m length cooling bed and other auxiliary equipment. The feedstock would be billets/blooms from a size range of 150mm sq, 200 mm sq and other bigger blooms in 250/280/320mm range, This mill can undertake manufacture of beams upto 300mm and will be the only mill in the GCC covering this size range.
Inhouse manufacture of billets/blooms is a project under implementation and will take about a couple of years. In the interim period, the billets/blooms for the Rolling mills will be imported and suitable sources have been identified and discussions are on for establishing long term Memorandum of Understanding.
Rebar Cut & Bend facility: A modern rebar cut and bend facility with rated capacity of 120,000 MTPA has been set up at the adjacent site in Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah. This facility has started functioning to cater to ‘ready to fix’ rebar requirements of the customers. STEMA PEDAX, one of the global market leaders for reinforcing steel processing will provide the following equipment for rebar cut & bend making.
- Robotic Double Bender
- Shear Line
- Pile Cage Machine
- Twin Master 16x with reef roll
